Forrest is the son of my niece, Krista and her husband Brant Petersen. He is buried in Hyrum Cemetery. He had a very difficult life as mentioned in the obituary. Krista, took up nursing to be able to care for her son. I remember Brant talked about Forrest as his jogging mate at the funeral. I sang at his funeral. Poem recited "Touched by and Angel" written by my sister and her husband was read at the funeral.
Forrest Cass Petersen
Today, March 24, 1999, our son Forrest went to join our Heavenly father. He left while at home surrounded by his family, as he had lived. He was born April 16, 1991, in Logan, Utah. He was brought into this world early and given many challenges. He was our inspiration and led those near him by example. He taught happiness, love and patience to every heart he touched. He needed his family for everything, but we needed him even more. Forrest, now is your chance to run and play with your angels. We love you and miss your smile.
Forrest is survived by his father, Brant; mother Krista; little sister Kassidi; grandparents Bruce and Nancy Petersen, Clyde and Sara Buff, Rex and Micala Jensen; his great-grandparents Lawrence and Gretta Hansen, Ileen Wardle, Jim Wardle and Claude and Vone Petersen; great-great grandmother Ella Petersen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother Skyler Brant Petersen and great-grandmother Edna Buff.
We offer a special thanks from Forrest for their great care and compassion to Dr. Rand, Dr. Nichols, Dr. Christensen and Dr. Bettis. We would like to thank the staff of St. Luke's pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric floor, we love and appreciate all of you. To Pam Sundae, Rebecca Whitaker, Linda Castro and all the staff at Progressive Nursing, there aren't words to thank you enough.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay awhile and leave footprints in our hearts and we are never, ever the same.
